Halal Check-up: is your company ready for certification?

Eleven questions, two minutes, instant result. We tell you whether your products can be certified as they are, what is missing and where it makes sense to start. It is the first step of the HQC process, free and with no obligation.

How it works. Answer the questions about the product, the ingredients and the production site. At the end you immediately see a result (green, amber or red) with the points to address. One of our technical staff receives your answers and contacts you within 24 working hours with a more precise assessment.

The product

1Which sector do you operate in?
2Which markets do you want to export to? (more than one answer possible)
3Do you already have a Halal certificate?
4How many products (SKUs) do you want to certify?

The ingredients

5Are there ingredients of animal origin (gelatine, collagen, glycerine, fats, animal enzymes, milk and dairy derivatives, meat)?
6Are ethyl alcohol or alcohol-based solvents present in the product or in the process?
7Are there ingredients obtained by fermentation or of microbial origin (enzymes, flavourings, vitamins, acids, cultures)?
8For how many ingredients do you already have the supplier's technical data sheet and Halal declaration or certificate?

The production site

9The production lines for the products to be certified are:
10Do you have a certified quality system (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, BRC, IFS, ISO 22716, GMP)?
11By when do you need the certificate?

Why a check-up before the quote

Most Halal certification files take longer for one reason only: supplier documentation arrives late. Knowing in advance which ingredients are critical, whether lines need to be segregated and which recognitions are required for the destination market lets you start on the right foot and receive a quote that reflects reality.

HQC Italia is the first Halal certification body in Europe, recognised by SASO (Saudi Arabia), EIAC (Emirates), BPJPH (Indonesia) and JAKIM (Malaysia). The guidelines we apply are public: you can find them on the Forms and Guidelines page (in Italian).
